Mondial Ghantoot far side wins the opener and this was a race
trainer Tony Manuel was after running four of his stable but
he was hopeful for Mondial who has run well this season and
now won two |
One
for the notebook here with John Egan in the saddle and John
rode GRP Mondial Ghantoot very well up with the pace and taking
the lead in the straight, John is known better at Nad Al Sheba |

| It
was very close but the Judge announced that AF Izdihar on the
far side had prevailed by a nose from Sami Lotois and it seems
a dead heat would have been a good result as both ran well |
Ted
Durcan looks towards the big screen to see if he won or not
but it was hard to tell but the decision came soon enough to
give the race to the Gillian Duffield trained AF Izdihar his
3rd win in a row |

| Another
close finish but Gill Duffield's Shohrah (nearest) won by a
Head at the line from Rahaf and again both horses ran very well
and this was the winners second victory at the Abu Dhabi track |
Richard
Hills followed up his double at Nad Al Sheba Friday evening
with another winner here, the two winners on Friday were part
of a Million Pounds winning bet in the UK on Friday for a small
stake |

| Wonderful
finish to the UAE Arabian Derby with the Omani challenger Zoumir
(far side) winning by a short head and that is the first winner
for Julian Smart and his team from Oman this season |
Tadhg
O'Shea on the winner Zoumir and Wayne Smith on Bareq come back
and again neither jockey had any idea who had won, a great performance
by the winner on his second UAE start |

| Mandobi
wins the thoroughbred race well from Montpellier and the winner
is trained by Dhruba Selvaratnam and he has been running in
the Dubai International Racing Carnival lately and his form
is good |
John
Murtagh aboard Mandobi who likes the Abu Dhabi track having
returned here since December when he ran 3rd twice, John not
normally seen here but he enjoyed coming especially for a winner |

Lemartinel's Wadya wins well from Sharakka who was looking to
be going well in front until challenged by Wadya who won her
third race of the season here all at the Abu Dhabi track |

O'Shea lands a double for himself with this winner Wadya, and
he has had a very good season this term and had a winner at
the Carnival at Nad Al Sheba on Rosberg for Erwan Charpy |

making his debut in the UAE makes it a winning one for trainer
Musabah Al Muhairi and he came from the UK having ran twice
and he was placed second and third so he breaks his maiden here |
Lisa
Jones described as "The Queen of the Pure Bred Arabians"
by commentator Terry Spargo as she crossed the line and that
is due to her running up a string of winners at the Abu Dhabi
track |
