EGA Ushers in 2015 at Meydan Racecourse

New-look Aluminium Producer Supports Dh700,000 Six-Race Card

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is to celebrate the New Year by sponsoring a six-race card worth Dh700,000 at Meydan Racecourse on Wednesday.

EGA, formerly known at Meydan as DUBAL, is a jointly-held, equal-ownership company formed by the Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and the Investment Corporation of Dubai and comprises Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and Emirates Aluminium (EMAL).

A long-term supporter of racing at Meydan, EGA will return to the track on Thursday January 29 for a Dubai World Cup Carnival race meeting highlighted by the two US$200,000 Group 2 races – the Al Rashidiya and the Cape Verdi.

The combined DUBAL-EMAL portfolio comprises high purity, premium quality cast aluminium products in three main forms: high purity and foundry re-melt products for electronics and aerospace, and automotive applications respectively; rolled products (for packaging, lithographic sheets and the automotive Industry); and billets for extrusion and forging (for construction, industrial and transportation processes).Over 350 customers are served in almost 70 countries worldwide, predominantly in the Asia, Europe, the MENA region, and the Americas.

Dubai Racing Club is operating a two-for-one discount on New Year’s Eve hospitality tickets in Silks and Tiered Restaurant. Tickets also carry a 15 per cent discount on entry to the #DXBNYE concert featuring Pharrell Williams.
