The David Marnane trained Elleval has his third start in this season’s Dubai World Cup Carnival but is now stepping up to 2000m from his two previous races at 1800m, his last start over 200m in Ireland was a good run to the Aiden O’Brien trained The United States by half a length. Elleval won on his first start in last year’s Carnival over 1400m but has not started over that trip since, his trainer will be hoping 2000m is his favorite trip and Fergal Lynch his regular jockey teams up with him again.

The big favorite for this race has to be top weight Cat O’Mountain who was so impressive when introduced by Charlie Appleby last month and talk since then has been the Dubai World Cup, he is being tried over course and distance in this race and should he win comfortably again he surely will be penciled in for the big race on March 29th. Mickael Barzalona rides as he did when winning an eased down two lengths from Haafaguinea over a furlong longer trip, he is unbeaten on all-weather surfaces and it is a very slight concern that he comes back in trip but it should be no problem really.
