Germany’s Empoli trained by Peter Schiergen has to get over his behavior at the starting stalls last time out when his refusal to load caused his withdrawal from the race, he is a very talented horse and it was a shame but now the racing public will be eager to see him race in the newly formed Listed Dubai Millennium Stakes under Adrie de Vries.

Last September in the Group 1 Preis Von Europa at Cologne he was a neck behind Meandre but was disqualified and placed fourth, and was also a two length fourth to Novellist in the Group 1 Grosser Preis Von Baden. This form should put Empoli into the reckoning for a big performance, a big challenger should be the Mike De Kock runner Mujaarib who ran a cracker to beat Mushreq last time out and was duly raised seven pounds to a mark of 115.

The win over Mushreq followed a fourth place to Variety Club in the Pinnacle Stakes at Greyville, seeing how brilliant Variety Club was at Meydan the week before there cannot be much doubt that the race between Mujaarib and Empoli could be a cracker.
