David O`Meara`s Robert The Painter has his first run in Dubai in the last on the card Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise, he was caught in the lens of Erika Rasmussen during training on Monday morning.

He has started 32 times but now has increased his Handicap mark to be able to compete in the Dubai World Cup Carnival, he recored three victories in a row last summer in the UK all over the mile trip. The same trip here and Jamie Spencer in the saddle could give him a chance in a difficult looking handicap.

Two horses that will be hard to beat could be Validus from the Saeed bin Suroor stable and Silvetre De Sousa riding whose racing career was with Luca Cumani in the UK, and Lehaaf trained by Mike De Kock and a two time winner from three races.

The latter will be ridden by Christophe Soumillon and I think this horse could trouble the field, in his wins he is produced late and a fast pace in this handicap could just set things up for yet another Mike De Kock Carnival victory.
