Trois Rois grabs the feature at Meydan

Kindly sponsored by Commercial Bank of Dubai, Meydan`s fourth meeting of the season was highlighted by a 1900m CBD World Mastercard conditions race, and it was won by Trois Rois for Ismail Mohammed and Ted Durcan.

Durcan sent his mount for home 300m out and never looked like being caught to the jockey`s delight. He said: "We were pleased with the horse`s first run and he has done it well tonight. Hopefully there is more to come from him."

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum was certainly expected to win the opening 1900m Purebred Arabian Commercial Bank of Dubai, but it was Willie Supple, carrying the third colours, who prevailed on Santhal. Trained by Erwan Charpy, he denied the Doug Watson duo of Paris Gagner and Nirwan who sported the first colours.

Charpy was pleased: "He is a nice horse and has the ability but we have to run him in this class and it is never easy. Funnily enough, he did beat Paris Gagner in similar fashion two years ago at Nad Al Sheba."

Wayne Smith was in the saddle on Inestimable who landed the 1600m Al Dana Wealth Management event for Musabah Al Muhairi. Settled in last, Smith had to drive his mount entering the straight and the pair led close home to Smith`s delight. He said: "He ran very well last week and we dropped him in trip. It has worked out well and we are looking forward to the Carnival."

Apprentice Harry Bentley was in the saddle on Africanus who ran out the comfortable winner of the 1400m Attijari Points Reward Program for Al Muhairi to initiate the trainer`s double. Never far off the pace, Bentley drove his mount to the front 200m out to win cosily and the young jockey said: "He felt a really nice horse directly I sat on him and he gave me a great ride around. I was always confident and it has been a good start to the season."

The 1600m maiden, the Attijari Al Islami, was won by Mark To Market under Tadhg O`Shea for Doug Watson who said: "He made a pleasing debut for us last week and we were hopeful tonight."

Satish Seemar`s Reynaldothewizard registered his second win of the campaign in the concluding 1400m Attijari Al Islami Visa Infinite Card. Richard Mullen was in the saddle and said: "He quickened very nicely there and is improving. He is a nice horse."
