Bary aiming for Sheema success with Interaction

UAE: Pascal Bary believes last season`s Argentinian Horse Of The Year Interaction could give him further Group 1 success in Dubai next March following Gloria De Campeao`s win in the Dubai World Cup earlier this year.

Speaking from Chantilly on Tuesday, Bary said: "The overall aim is hopefully to run him in the Sheema Classic, however he will run in the Maktoum Challenge on February 3 first. We will see how he runs on the Tapeta and then decide after if we might switch to the turf over 2,400m.

"Physically he is very good-looking and has a lot of acceleration so I am optimistic that he will run very well. Interaction is a lot like Gloria in that he only goes left handed and needs to be in the warmth to show his best, and there is no reason why he can`t do as well."

Owned jointly by Jose Cerillo (Haras Pozo de Luna) and Fernando Fantini, last year`s champion South American three-year-old joined Bary`s stable last May.

The son of Easing Along made his first start for the trainer four months later when running seventh of eight in a Listed event at Longchamp, his first start since taking the Grade 1 Gran Premio Internacional Carlos Pellegrini the previous December.

Plans to run Interaction in the Qatar Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe were then scrapped.

Bary added: "Interaction showed enormous quality in South America and his debut with me was average but not as bad as all that in my opinion.

"He is in very good condition and even now he looks a lot better than he did in August as it is the southern hemisphere summer."
