Etisalat to sponsor Meydan`s next racemeeting

The excitement of the Dubai World Cup Carnival continues on Thursday, January 12 when the Dubai Racing Club will stage the first “black type” races, the highest level of the sport, at Meydan. The seven race programme, sponsored by Etisalat includes the opening rounds of the Al Maktoum Challenge, one race for Purebred Arabians and another for Thoroughbreds.
These two races both run over 1600 metres, lead-off a tally of 33 Group and Listed, known collectively as black type, events for both breeds to be run at the 2012 Dubai World Cup Carnival and Dubai World Cup.
The Purebred Arabian race is ranked a Group One contest while the Thoroughbred edition is Group Three. Both will be run on the all-weather surface.
Thursday’s programme will be the third of the Dubai World Cup Carnival leading to the famed Dubai World Cup on March 31, 2012.
