Madjani was unable to win the Dubai Kahayla Classic a record breaking fourth time, he was defeated by the mare Mizzna who emulated her mother Unchained Melody (Alanudd) who also won this race three times and kept her as joint record holder. Eric Lemartinel the trainer was very confident before the race and this was justified with Tadhg O'Shea giving Mizzna a great ride and he looked like he was on the winner a long way out, Madjani was second and Al Moutawakel finished a good third.
