Nad Al Sheba host of the famous Dubai World Cup is a racetrack with two courses, a sand/dirt mixture
and a turf track.
The sand/dirt track is an oval of, 2,200m with a run in of 600m or 3 furlongs. There is a 6-furlong
straight and two chutes giving a 1,600m start and a 2,000m start. The later chute is the start used
for the Dubai World Cup.
The turf track is an oval of 2,000m with the same extent ions as the sand/dirt track.
During the off-season the grandstand has seen some major work. The facilities within the grandstand
have been improved. In addition a brand new grandstand has bee added paying tribute to the increasing
amount of spectators year over year.
The 2000/2001 seasons will see 29 Pattern of races for Thoroughbreds and Pure Bred Arabians. The most
important races will be Dubai World Cup, Dubai Duty Free, The Dubai Sheema Classic, The Kahayala Classic
and the Maktoum Challenge.
