Race Tracks > Abu Dhabi Race Course

Located in the Mushrif area of Abu Dhabi just 10 minutes from the commercial center is a tranquil oasis in one of the Gulf’s most modern and beautiful cities, which is often referred to as the Garden City of the Gulf Region.

Within the Club complex is the site of the racecourse, which covers a vast area and includes a grass surface nine hole Golf Course located inside the racetrack.

During the season racing takes place in the evenings, with the first race of a six-race programme commencing at 6.00 PM except in Ramadan when racing will start at 9.00 PM.

The Racecourse is 2,000m in circumfences and 30m wide. The surface is a mixture of different grasses, which gives an excellent surface to race on.

A brand new 5,000 seater state of the art Grandstand opens this season thereby giving spectators a much more luxurious means of viewing races then was previously available.

The 2000/2001 season will see 15 race meetings. Amongst the most important races programmed are the National Day Cup, H.H. The President Cup, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Triple Crown, The Al Asayl Championship and the Emirates Championship at the end of the season.

The Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club is a prime example of H.H. The President’s wishes to spread the noble pastime of equestrianism. In the UAE and make available every modern facility for everyone who would like to participate.
